Dr Rajani Nandakumar completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2002 at Sri Ramachandra University in India, and in 2016 became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
From October 2005 to January 2007 Dr Nandakumar worked as Hospital Medical Officer at Goulburn Valley Health in Shepparton where her rotations included Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, General Surgery and Paediatrics. From February 2007 to February 2010 she worked as Obstetrics and Gynaecology Hospital Medical Officer at both Goulburn Valley Health and the Royal Women’s Hospital. In 2011 Dr Nandakumar accepted a role as Medical Adviser at Medibank Health Solutions in Melbourne and then in 2011 moved to Kialla Medical Clinic for a role as General Practitioner.
Dr Nandakumar has undertaken a number of courses and projects including a Pain Management Master class (Cat 1) in October 2012, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics in May 2007, resuscitation of the newly born infant program jointly conducted by Goulburn Valley Health and NETS education Victoria in November 2006, and completed and presented an audit on HIV screening in pregnancy at Goulburn Valley Health, Shepparton in July 2006.
Dr Nandakumar is fluent in Tamil and Hindi.
Outside work Dr Nandakumar enjoys reading and travelling.
